Happy Monday! To kick off this week, TumbleRoot decided to review(/fall in love with?) T Swift’s new album, Red. Just dropped last week, Taylor’s fourth album is pretty much never ever ever ever going to get out of your head. Filled with poppy, upbeat tracks like 22, Red, I Knew You Were Trouble, and, of course, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, you’re going to be singing this in your car on the daily for at least the next month and a half. Swift remains diary-honest and confessional, touching our hearts right in that angsty, teenager-forever spot (kinda the same place where *NSYNC or Backstreet Boys will always have a home). The album is a mix of emotions and sounds, with a few twangy banjo plucking ballads, like All Too Well, that will resonate with country fans.
Though much of her lyrics still take you back to that too-cute high school romance, Taylor has grown up some since Fearless (thanks Taylor Lautner), showing a taste for vengeance, a longing for lasting love, and a little bit of scandal… She’s not just the girl next door anymore. She’s back. And she’s hot. The bold, vivid lip stick on the cover conveys a much less innocent, much more sexy T Swift we’ve never seen before.
And we’re loving it.
